Korea's Composite Consumer Sentiment Index stood at 106.1 in May 2026, up 6.9 points from April, the Bank of Korea said on May 21.

The figure comes from the central bank's monthly Consumer Tendency Survey, per the release. On the index's construction, readings above 100 indicate consumer sentiment more optimistic than the long-term average, placing the May print in optimistic territory after the 6.9-point jump.

The material reviewed did not include the sub-indices — views on current living standards, household income prospects or spending plans — nor the survey period or what drove the month's improvement.

The headline CCSI level and its monthly change are official Bank of Korea data. The composition of the swing, and inflation-expectation readings that accompany the survey, sit in the full release and were not part of the material reviewed.
